What’s on my mind... I grew up in Murphy...I went off to college and graduated from Mount Vernon College in DC back in ‘88. Some of you may remember me from my businesses....Picture Perfect 1 Hour Photo, Book Cellar, Lilypad Music, and The Chief Newspaper. 

For the last seven years I’ve been employed as Vice President of US Chemical Storage in Boone, NC. I have enjoyed my position tremendously, but in the end, I always knew I’d be back in my hometown. When I was in business here in the early 90’s, web design wasn’t really an issue because no one in Murphy really had the Internet in those days. That was back when cordless phones looked like bricks and a 20MB hard drive was HUGE!
 Well, it doesn’t take a weatherman to know which way the wind blows...now my ipod has 60GB and the Internet has changed the way we do business! If you are in business, then you need to have an online presence or you are liable to get clobbered by the WalMarts and Amazons. In my experience, people in our area don’t really like the giants...they like to do business with other locals. You can easily give your biz the credibility of one of the big dogs and maximize your advertising cabbage with an online strategy and marketing campaign tailored for your needs. For the price of a few costly newspaper ads, you can have your own web site and get your message to more people - and do it more often.
